Judith Honrado
I am a qualified Counsellor, with a degree in Applied Social Science, Counselling specialisation and a Diploma in Art Therapy. I am currently studying for a master's degree in art therapy to further my knowledge of using art in my counselling practice. For the last ten years I have worked with children and adults with special needs and mental health issues as a Social Pedagogue and as a Disability Support Worker.
I am passionate about providing client-centred and solution-focused counselling to improve students' well-being. I integrate art into my counselling practice, as I believe in the healing effects art has on a person and that it promotes psychological and social well-being.
To achieve the best outcome for each child, I collaborate with parents/guardians and the school. To ensure the safety and welfare of the student, I recommend referrals to external agencies when additional support is needed.
Above all, I am dedicated to providing counselling for our DSM students to promote emotional well-being and personal growth. As a member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) I am committed to continually updating my professional practice and to adhere to ethical and safe practice.
